Alex Irwin is a 2017 2B/OF, IF with a 5-10 148 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Bishop Verot High School. Medium build with a lean, slender frame with athleticism and room to fill. Posted a 7.31 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary infielder, showed good hands while waiting back for the ball with an arm that plays well on the right side. Also worked out from the outfield, with a longer arm action, three quarter release, with quick actions and transfers. At the plate, started with an open stance, medium hand set, high back elbow and an approach that worked the whole field. Coiled well though hips with solid contact with a positive launch angle leading to strong contact. Good student.
