Hunter Deckard is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-4 155 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Friendswood HS. Deckard has a tall body with a long very thin build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a compact arm action. He has some arm speed and his arm works. Deckard gets some extension out front and has an online delivery. He throws a 11/5 curveball at 66 MPH with developing shape and spin to it. Deckard gets good action on his change up at 72 MPH with some sink to it. His change up is his best pitch and it showed promise. He has plenty of room to add strength and size which will help with velocity gains. Defensively he showed developing outfield actions with arm strength up to 81 MPH. At the plate he starts with a big wrap and has a wristy swing. He showed barrel skills and made middle of the field contact. Excellent student.
