Ivan Rivera is a 2016 SS with a 5-11 168 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends The Loomis Chaffee. Medium, athletic build with looseness throughout frame and some room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.02 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well to the ball and gets behind it, present quick twitch muscle, quick transfer and release, soft actions with the glove, plenty of carry and strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even stance and shows a patient approach in the box. Stays balanced through swing, has some length but quick hands to contact creates quickness in barrel. Nice jump off the barrel to pull side, creates some separation in swing and can go to all fields. Good student.
