Edwin Mendez is a 2018 C/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Paterson, NJ who attends Eastside High School. Medium, athletic frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame, room to grow stronger moving forward. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, low set up behind the plate, does a nice job of gaining ground out of crouch, quick transfer with an extra step at release, quickness to lower half, 1.97 best pop, shows arm strength and carry when in sync at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a lower hand set at the plate. Short weight transfer through lower half moving into contact.
