2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Will Cockman is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Greer, SC who attends Riverside. Large frame with lean, athletic present build and high projection remaining on body. Primary pitcher, shows longer arm action with smoothness and advanced arm speed, arm works well up to mid-3/4 slot, generates angle and gets downhill well. FB worked 79-83 with heavy sink, did good job pounding the bottom of the strike zone to both sides and attacking hitters. Showed CB with 12/6 shape and quality spin, can generate solid depth and change eye levels with the pitch. Hits with line drive swing plane, big stride into contact, occasionally drifts to front side, shows solid jump off the barrel when squared and will grow into additional power. Showed excellent first step on the OF, moving well to the ball and surrounding it, fields cleanly and retains smoothness through gather, shows good arm action with quality arm strength, OF velocity up to 84 MPH. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
