Matt Dye is a 2017 RHP with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends Lakeland HS. Long and lean athletic build, still has some physical projection left. Short stride in his delivery with a straight over the top release point with lots of extension at release, creates maximum downhill angle on his pitches, surprisingly little upper body lean to let his arm through. Steady mid-80's velocity, topped out at 86 mph, has been up to 89 mph this past summer at PG events, throws his fastball for strikes and does a good job of working down considering his release point. Flashed good downer spin on his curveball and 12/6 depth, also showed some feel for his change up with a somewhat slower arm, can improve consistency of release on his secondary pitches but the potential is there. Good student.
