Matt Perego is a 2017 RHP with a 6-8 250 lb. frame from Ballwin, MO who attends Parkway West HS. Extra, extra large build with impressive present strength, intimidating presence on the mound. Rotational delivery with medium effort at release, 3/4's arm slot, shows coordination in his mechanics for his size. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, gets occasional hard running action on his fastball, can also get cutting action glove side. Curveball is sharp and time when on-line, hard spin and impressive depth at times, swing and miss pitch. Rotational delivery can lead to over rotation on both pitches and inconsistent horizontal command, would benefit from better direction to the plate. Very interesting young pitching prospect.
