Mitchell Williams is a 2017 3B/C, 2B, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Suffolk, VA who attends Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Large frame with solid, athletic present build with good strength throughout and solid projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.48 seconds. Hits with heavily rotational swing, shifts into contact, starts with hands back and high, quick stride, line drive swing plane with solid jump, opposite-field approach with quality bat speed throughout. Worked out defensively in the infield and behind the plate. Solid footwork in the IF, quick and clean first step, clean and soft hands with quality fielding skills, transfers well, IF velocity up to 76 MPH. Higher set behind the plate, receives well, gains ground forward with fluidity, threw accurately to 2B bag up to 71 MPH and popped as low as 2.07 seconds. Good student.
