Chase Keeney is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Thomas Jefferson HS. Medium athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. High leg raise delivery, stays over the rubber well and is on line to the plate, mid 3/4's arm slot with a compact arm action that hides the ball well, slot tended to move up and down throughout the game. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, got big running life on his fastball at times, works down in the zone with his fastball. Curveball was his best pitch, shows tightness and depth and the ability to get right handed hitters to swing over the pitch. Developing change up tends to be a bit firm. Has an idea how to pitch. Left handed hitter, loose extended swing, flashed some raw power to the middle of the field, athletic running stride on the bases. Good student.
