Derek Goldrick is a 2018 1B/RHP, OF with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Weare, NH who attends John Stark Regional High School. Extra-Large frame, slender build, long limbs, and lots of room to continue to develop physically and add strength. Posted a 7.31 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary first basemen, showed a simple arm action with impressive accuracy, and sound fielding actions. Worked out from the outfield as well with impressive arm strength up to 85 mph. At the plate, started with a high hand set and a toe tap timing mechanism. Developing bat and hand speed at the plate, longer swing, with strength in frame to drive the ball off the barrel. Would generate more leverage and impact with additional lower half in swing. Also pitched, started on the first base side of the rubber, long arm action, short arm circle, gets downhill well, and threw from an over the top arm slot. Fastball worked 74-75 mph but with additional lower half would see improved velocity. Showed a 12/6 shaped curveball as well with good depth and developing spin to the pitch.
