Michael Flaherty is a 2007 OF/2B/SS with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Alpharetta GA, who attends Centennial HS. He has a narrow frame with some developing strength. Flaherty ran the 60 in 7.23 and threw 78 from the outfield and 75 mph from the infield. His long arm action works better from the outfield but Flaherty moves well in the infield and shows good hands and range, so he might be a player who can play both positions with some skill. Offensively, Flaherty has an aggressive, power oriented pull swing and shows good bat speed. He gets his hips into his swing early and can turn on the ball hard and drive it with power. He'll reach on outside pitches because of this approach but he can hammer the ball inside. Flaherty is a projectable athlete who does many things well now and he has some upside to him as he matures. He is also an outstanding student.
