2015 California Underclass Showcase
Zach Patterson is a 2017 C/ with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Livermore, CA who attends Granada. Large frame with excellent physicality and athleticism throughout body; still projects well moving forward as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.32 seconds. Starts swing by coiling into load, uncoils well and generates some hip torque but doesn't get off backside completely. Shows ability to generate strength off the barrel whens squared up, heavily rotational swing creates pull-field approach but has strength to that field. Receives extremely well behind the plate and moves well back there, gains ground well out of crouch and shows solid arm strength, popping as low as 1.87 seconds. Has raw tools to be excellent catcher. Showed well at 1st base as well, fields cleanly and moves easily with athleticism. Very good arm strength, across the diamond up to 85 MPH. Named to 2015 California Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
