Jakob Alvarez is a 2019 2B/3B, OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Miami Christian. Medium frame with slender present build; projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.55 seconds. Sets up to hit from even-based stance with high back elbow set. Small leg lift trigger, middle approach with line drive swing plane. Did a good job getting the barrel out and working back through the middle with some linear jump. Showed clean hands and actions when fielding, good hips throughout, plays close to ground with good athleticism and footwork, threw 77 mph across diamond. Pitched as well, high take back in arm stroke, comes through to three quarters slot, looseness, fastball worked 73-75 mph with slight cut. Showed curveball with sweeping shape and some sharpness. Threw strikes with both pitches. Good student.
