Caleb Blackwell is a 2017 C/2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Conroe, TX who is home schooled. Medium athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. 7.57 runner, two-part release throwing the ball, stands up and then throws, has a good arm action and some developing arm strength, 2.10 best pop time, can work on quickness in hips and feet. Also plays the infield. Right handed hitter, high hand start with a hand drop load, big drop creates inconsistent timing, swings hard and has the beginnings of some bat speed, looks to pull the ball and will occasionally stride out with his front foot, can turn on inside pitches and pull them hard, will reach on outside locations. Good student.
