Jake Luongo is a 2019 OF/LHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Boynton Beach, FL who attends Spanish River Community High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.16 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, used a longer arm action, big arm circle, and showed good accuracy. Showed arm strength up to 78 mph with clean release. At the plate, started with a tall stance, open base, and a quick toe tap timing mechanism. Used a quick hip turn with slight torque and stayed short to the ball. Linear swing plane and showed raw ability to generate backspin. Pull oriented approach and should generate more extension at the point of contact. Also pitched, started with a hand raise in sync with a leg raise, short, compact arm action, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Would show effort at the point of release with a crossfire element down the mound. Landed in a good position to field with good tempo in delivery. Fastball worked 76-79 mph with short arm side life. Curveball showed 2/7 shape with big break and developing feel to spin. Also showed a changeup with short fade and slightly reduced arm speed.
