Defensively he has a loose arm with arm strength up to 80 MPH. Canavan made accurate online throws with some carry on them. He has solid actions with good athleticism. At the plate, Canavan is a switch hitter. From the left side he has a small hand hitch load with some bat speed. He hits the ball out front and looks to pull. From the right side, he starts with an open stance and has the same approach. Canavan made solid line drive contact from both sides of the plate. Good student.
