Austin Cornelius is a 2021 RHP/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Hoover. Long, slender frame with plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Athletic looking right-handed pitcher with simple tall and fall down the mound, clean and online lower half direction through release. Attacks both sides of the plate with fastball from a higher three-quarters arm slot that is short and compact on the backside. Fastball worked in the mid-80s, topping out at 87 miles per hour and staying relatively straight from a action standpoint. Secondary offerings are still developing with flashes of potential swing-and-miss capability, once he is able to replicate arm speed. Shows ability to land both slider and changeup for strikes with varied feel for spin and action. There is some projection remaining and overall it was an impressive outing with plenty of strikes and repeated mechanics. Good Student.
