Brooks Hardie is a 2021 3B/RHP, C, IF, OF with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Bremen, GA who attends Bremen. Medium frame with a bulky build and broad chest. Present strength throughout. Ran a 7.37 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary third baseman. Gets around the baseball and fields a bit underneath and out in front. Works towards the bag well. Clean hands into transitions. Can changes slots well and stay accurate while throwing on the run. Ball comes out clean with carry to the bag topping out at 87 MPH. Also worked out as a catcher. Sets up in a high stance. Receives out front and works through exchanges with smooth footwork and gaining ground toward the bag. Arm plays well behind the plate topping out at 76 MPH and popping a 2.00 during workouts. Righthanded hitter with a wide and slightly open stance to start. Naturally elevated path to contact creating bat speed through the zone. Drives the ball well to the pull side when staying on time. Secondary righthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch. Limits lower half work down the mound. Short arm action in the back an into a high three-quarter release. Mostly straight fastball topping out at 78 MPH. Still developing the feel for the secondaries. Works both a slow curveball as well as a slider with some lateral movement. Also mixed in a changeup with occasional sinking life. Good student as well. Named to the 2019 National Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
