David Gross is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Jamesville, NY who attends Christian Brothers Academy. Large, athletic frame with a long and lean build and room to fill out with continued strength. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, short arm action coming through the back with a three-quarter arm slot. Will occasionally drop to lower three-quarter, generates life to arm side on fastball topping at 73 mph, incorporates lower half into delivery well. Maintains arm speed well on changeup at 66 mph, straight in life but has deceptions. Throws strikes with all three pitches, flashed slider at 64 mph. Short and compact arm action from outfield, fields out to side, lower slot with strength and accuracy on throws, nice carry. Right-handed hitter, starts with lower hand set and an open stance. Upper body swing, line drive swing plane, shows a nice feel for the barrel and has ability to hit to all fields, creates consistent contact. Very good student.
