Michael Cruz is a 2016 OF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Springfield, MA who attends Springfield Central. Medium, athletic build, with looseness to frame, lean and projectable with room to fill out. Solid runner, posted a 6.77 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows twitch to actions in outfield, clean arm action, short and quick through the back and projects for more, strength will continue to develop with incorporation of lower half, quick transfer and release with some extension out front. Left-handed hitters, starts with an upright and open stance with a high back elbow. Gets closed with leg lift trigger, simple and patient approach in the box with a line drive swing plane. Opens front side early at times but stays through the ball, creates some extension out front with consistent contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field.
