Kanoa Pagan is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Campbell, CA who attends Leigh HS. Impressed on the mound starting his motion with a high leg lift, drives down the mound with long stride, lands online and finishes with extension from a 3/4 slot. Attacked hitters early, threw a lot of first pitch strikes, and commanded the zone. Threw his fastball at 83 to 85 and touched 87 miles per hour with some cut action. Threw the curveball at 70 miles per hour with 11/5 arc and got more comfortable with commanding it as the outing progressed. Occasionally threw a developing change up with good arm speed at 76 miles per hour. At the plate he stands open and begins his swing by shifting weight to the rear leg, lifts stride leg and gets back to even, lift has internal rotation creating slight coil, lands in strong torqued position and finishes with balance. Good student.
