Joseph Palermo is a 2019 SS/2B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a high waist, lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with two hands and funnels well, works behind it nicely and shows quick footwork with athletic actions, gets rid of the ball well and shows ability to work from multiple arm angles with accuracy, balanced when on the move. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright and even stance, high hand set and low back elbow at the plate. Loads hands back at start of swing, shows bat speed to come out with a loose, line drive swing plane. Works middle and pull side parts comfortably but shows ability to go to all fields, contact approach and remains balanced through swing. Projects with additional physical strength. Very good student.
