Jonathan Young is a 2019 SS/RHP, C, 1B, 3B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends North Cobb High School. Large, athletic frame with a high waist and long limbs; present strength to frame with additional room to fill. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows sound footwork moving towards the ball, hands play well at the ball and has a clean transfer, works through the ball and shows big arm strength and carry on throws across diamond, nice balance on charge play. Clean and fluid actions off the first base bag, full arm action on throw, similar stand out arm strength and carry. Also pitched, simple side step moving into delivery with leg lift up to belt, some drop and drive off back side, stays short through the back while working to a high three-quarters release point. Quick arm, able to work on top of the ball and locate to either side with short sinking life when down in the zone, topped out at 82 mph. Creates extension out front, able to run fastball in on hands of righthanded hitters, flashed a curveball at 70 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with a slightly open stance in the box. Occasionally gets to front side early, looks to lift the ball at point of contact and did so in live action with a long home run. Creates leverage out front and shows jump off the barrel, has quickness to hands and shows bat speed through the zone.
