Zackery Middleton is a 2021 2B/RHP/UT with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from King, NC who attends Walkertown. Medium athletic build with room to get stronger. Versatile defensive player who can play all over the field, 7.22 runner. Listed as a primary second baseman but has left side infield tools, plenty of raw arm strength with a good release and made very accurate throws. Similar actions and arm strength in the outfield with young footwork that would easily develop with more repetitions. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a short swing, repeats his time and mechanics well and looks like he is a polished hitter, can get more separation for better ability to drive the ball and more gap power. Also pitched, same sort of solid repeatable athleticism in his delivery, mid 3/4's arm slot with some arm whip coming through. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with good consistent life, showed tight spin on his curveball with some hard sweeping bite. Interesting young athlete who can do lots of things well and will continue to improve as he gets stronger. Excellent student. Named to the Fall Atlantic Coast Top Prospect List.
