Keagan Vance is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Clear Lake High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving froward. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and works behind it well, shows balance to actions and moves well on feet, clean actions, ball comes out of hand well with compact arm action through the back, works over front side, quick transfer and release. Also pitched, works with similar compact arm action before getting to a high three-quarters release point. On line stride down the mound with tempo and rhythm; true fastball with plane, topped out at 82 mph and worked down in the zone, got to either side of plate. Mixed three pitches for strikes, showed fading life to changeup up to 74 mph; nice feel for curveball and featured depth and bite down in zone with 12-6 shape. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate and a slightly open stance in the box. Utilizes a short trigger at start of swing with front leg, shows looseness to hands and employs a contact approach at the plate with a line drive swing plane. Steady contact to the pull side and stays short to the ball; uses hands well, projects with additional lower half incorporated into swing. Very good student.
