Jake Morgan is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-2 193 lb. frame from Souderton, PA who attends Souderton Area HS. Tall well proportioned athletic build, lots of room to fill out and get stronger. Full arm action in back, tight 3/4's arm slot coming through, upper half delivery, tends to fall off hard to the first base side on release but does a good job of staying low in the strike zone with his pitches. Mid-70's fastball, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Curveball shows good spin and depth at times, has a feel for the pitch. Change up gets nice fading action. Has a feel for pitching and some easy adjustments to make to keep improving. Right handed hitter, high hand load from an upright stance, has some strength in his swing and the ball comes off the barrel well, mid field approach but showed he could get his hands through on an inside pitch as well, has some hitting tools to develop. Good footwork around the bag at first and makes accurate throws. Good student.
