Russell Cruz is a 2017 3B/C, RHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Littleton, CO who attends Columbine High School. Medium frame with a large, strong build with a powerful lower half. Primary third basemen, showed good accuracy while fielding deep and developing arm strength across the diamond. Worked out as a catcher as well, showed developing catch and throw actions with a workout pop time of 2.18. At the plate, started with a wide, open base and a leg lift timing mechanism. Created good extension and fired well through his hips, creating some leverage. Linear swing plane with strength to drive the ball. Also pitched, short, compact arm action with arm strength up to 73 mph. Threw strikes with both his fastball and a curveball that showed slurvy action. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
