Bret Ploucha is a 6'3" 160 pound 2007 right handed pitcher, outfielder, and shortstop from Gray, Tennessee who attends Daniel Boone High School. He has an excellent pitchers frame and should continue to fill out. Bret is a finesse pitcher who throws from a 3/4 arm slot. His fastball was 70-75 mph with good life and command. His curveball was at 59-60 with good command and his change up was 67-71 mph but he didn’t throw it much. Ploucha works his fastball on both corners and relies on his command to get hitters out. Offensively, he has a short quick swing with good hand strength and good balance. Bret has an advanced approach to hitting and has very athletic actions at the plate. He did show some very good skills during the workout by running a 7.35 60 and throwing 80 mph from the outfield. Bret is a very good student with a 3.5 gpa who played on his varsity team as a freshman.
