Sal Lombardo is a 2017 2B/IF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Flemington, NJ who attends Hunterdon Central. Medium, athletic frame with a projectable build but present strength throughout frame at present. Ran a 5.1 40-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and shows quickness to either side with balance charging in, extra step at release, upright at release but does a nice job of getting on top of throws, shows smoothness to arm action, ball comes out clean with nice carry and arm strength across the diamond. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance in the box and does a nice job of getting closed at contact. Incorporates lower half well and clears hips, can occasionally get to front side early but shows both bat speed and strength, has comfort hitting to the opposite field and shows jump off the barrel. Very good student.
