Arnoldo Ortiz is a 2005 right handed pitcher from Cayey PR with a thin lean body at 6 ft. 150 pounds. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with a high leg kick and a slow deliberate delivery. He has a long arm action in back and he hides the ball well from hitters. He pitches in-line and has a balanced delivery with overall good mechanics. He is a very slow worker. His fastball topped out at 85 mph with some run. He threw 90 % fastballs early and was very effective with the slider in his last inning. His slider shows good action at times at 73-75 mph. He did not show a change. With added velocity and a third pitch, Arnoldo will be a very good college pitcher.
