Jared Lafal is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Blue Springs, MO who attends Blue Springs HS. Medium build with good present strength. Multi-part delivery with some deception, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, cross body on release, repeats mechanics well. Primary fastball pitcher, steady mid-70's velocity, fastball is mostly straight with occasional arm side run but spots it well to both sides of the plate. Soft curveball spin with a short 1/7 break, developing change up. Pitches with confidence and has an idea what he's doing, improvement in his off speed will be important. Left handed hitter, aggressive swing approach, will overswing at times but creates some bat speed and has some natural lift in his swing. Showed strong fundamentals on defense and has been well coached. Very good student.
