Jack Hollinshead is a 2017 C/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Highland Heights, OH who attends Mayfield. Large frame with strong, well-built body; projects some moving forward as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.63 seconds. Sets up to hit from open, upright start. Leg lift timing mechanism, shifts well into contact with good leg drive and hip torque, shows quality bat speed on a line drive plane. Up the middle approach but is comfortable and able to hit to all fields on a line. Has good strength in swing, generates impressive jump off the barrel and showed power up both gaps. Worked out defensively both behind the plate and at first base. Sets well behind the plate with good balance and flex, gains ground forward well out of crouch with quality footwork and some twitch. Was consistently accurate downhill to 2nd base bag, popping as low as 2.06 seconds. Showed well at 1st base as well, good footwork around the bag with comfortability and athleticism on the pivot, good arm strength across the diamond up to 79 MPH. Very good student.
