Daniel Fridline is a 2018 C/RHP with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Flushing, MI who attends Flushing HS. Compact strong build, especially in the lower half. Has good flexibility for his size behind the plate, gets low in his set, young footwork throwing and blocking, has more arm strength to show with better lower half mechanics, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, straight stance with a high hand start, showed good direction to contact in BP but tended to straight open and hit from his heals in the games, has some strength in his swing and the ball comes off hard to the gaps, has power potential with better direction to contact. Also pitched, long and loose arm action with an online delivery, low 3/4's arm slot with an extended release. Fastball touched 80 mph, showed some feel for his off speed pitches. Improving defensively will be key in his development. Good student.
