Sheldon McCown is a 2016 3B/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Nacogdoches, TX who attends Central Heights HS. McCown has a long lean build with room to fill out. Hits from a square stance, has strength in swing and uses hips and core through out swing. Gets front foot down on time and has consistent swing plane. Makes good contact and consistently barreled up. Defensively, arm works well, accurate throws with good carry. Feet work well and has soft hands, arm action is solid and arm plays overall. Clean actions and moves well for size. Ran a 6.87 sixty. Also pitches, deceptive delivery, fastball gets on hitter. Arm works well with developing arm speed and strength. Good command and had mound presence. Outstanding Student.
