Ty Angevine is a 2018 C/IF with a 6-1 168 lb. frame from St Johns, FL who attends Creekside HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.03 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a slightly side set, low stance while setting up to receive. Gains some ground with fundamental footwork while working out of crouch. Clean, smooth paced glove to hand exchanges and generated good downward angle to the bag from a compact arm action. Topped at 76 miles per hour with a best workout pop time of 2.19. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and large leg lift trigger. Lower half launches with linear actions to contact generating occasional shift. Hands launch on a loose, extended path that created a naturally lifted plane through extension. Flashed a smooth, fluid swing mechanics with a mid-field approach that generated consistent, hard contact between the gaps. Excellent student as well.
