Cole Boyd is a 2016 OF/C with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Winthrop, AR who attends Horatio HS. Slender young build, plenty of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, bent knee stance, strides into contact, keeps hands short to the ball, aggressive swing and has some hand quickness, some uppercut plane with extension out front, lacks present strength but has the hitting tools and approach to develop. 7.38 runner, smooth actions in the outfield, has some arm strength with accurate throws. Also catches, young receiving skills but has some athleticism back there, 2.08 pop in drills, 2.06 in games, can develop as a catcher with more repetitions and coaching. Good student.
