Juliano Kovalcik is a 2016 RHP with a 6-2 178 lb. frame from New Hope, PA who attends Council Rock North HS. Long limbed lean athletic build, projects well physically with plenty of room to get stronger. High leg raise delivery, extended arm action in back, lands open out front, arm is smooth coming through with a low effort release, does collapse his back side early costing him some angle to the plate. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph, was up to 85 mph last fall, fastball gets on hitters quickly and has deception, good arm side running action, works down in the zone and misses low when he misses, ground ball contact. Primary fastball pitcher, curveball showed some 11/5 depth at times, maintained arm speed well on his change up. Knows how to pitch with his fastball and should keep improving with strength and physical maturity. Very good student.
