Connor Martin is a 2018 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Warner Robins, GA who attends Houston County High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and works behind the ball, quick transfer and release, shows accuracy to throws across the diamond, arm strength will continue to develop. Graded out higher on the mound in this look, begins with a big stride moving into contact, leg lift up to belt, gets tall on backside and regularly works on top of the ball. Short and compact arm action working to a high three-quarters arm slot, topped out at 77 mph with fastball and shows short cut action. Deliberate tempo to delivery, able to induce ground ball contact, flashed an 11-5 shaped curveball at 65 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set in the box. Sound approach at the plate, full swing through the zone and shows intent moving into contact. Occasionally gets uphill with swing path and looks to elevate, shows nice jump off the barrel when producing line drive contact, hits the ball out front. Very good student.
