Lofton Cotton is a 2017 OF/2B, C with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Franklin, TN who attends Franklin. Compact frame, sloped shoulders with strong, athletic build. Good footspeed, ran a 6.72 60-yard dash, has ability to play multiple positions. Performed well behind the plate, showed solid footwork, gains ground on throws to bases, popped a 2.00 down to second base. Also plays outfield, charges the ball well, shows some arm strength from high 3/4's arm slot, could incorporate more lower half into throwing mechanics. Right handed hitter, upright stance with rotational swing. Hits off of backside, has strength in lower half, solid barrel utilization, shows carry off of the bat when squared. Very good student.
