Marcus Thompson is a 2016 LHP with a 6-4 160 lb. frame from Foothill Ranch, CA who attends Trabuco Hills HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with a high waist, long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.24 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, high leg raise up past belt, remains tall on backside and lands online with front foot. Short in the back with a high three-quarter release, slight hip turn at top and creates angle on fastball with easy release and extension out front. Topped at 77 mph, shows arm side run and downhill plane, works low in the zone hides the ball well in back. stays off barrels and fills up strike zone, curveball shows 1-7 shape at 62 mph with depth from same arm slot, good feel for the pitch. Changeup comes out mimicking fastball, short and fading life at 66 mph, shows ability to work away from hitters. Good student.
