2016 Sunshine Southeast Showcase
Jonathan Broughton is a 2016 2B/RHP with a 5-10 168 lb. frame from Oak Vale, MS who attends Columbia Academy High School. Medium frame, smaller build with good present athleticism and room to fill out physically. Posted a 7.50 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary second basemen, worked through the ball well with good hands and a short arm action across the diamond. Was accurate to the bag with good footwork as well. At the plate, started with an open stance, high back elbow and a leg lift timing mechanism. Deeper hand load into swing showed some bat speed and swings with intent to drive the ball. Uses the whole field in approach with good plate coverage. Exceptional student.
