Clay Stravers is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Pella, IA who attends Pella Christian HS. Slender build, young look. lots of room to get stronger. Leg raise delivery with hard drive to the plate, long extended arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, energy on release, has some deception and repeats his mechanics well. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, mostly straight, throws strikes with his fastball and works ahead in counts. Shows good feel for a slow curveball, gets lots of sweeping depth on his curveball and gets outs with the pitch, has some idea how to pitch. Right handed hitter, tall stance with a bouncing busy load, swings down to the ball, best contact pulling. Showed some athleticism in the infield and charged the ball well, accurate throws. Good student.
