Matthew Dillard is a 2018 LHP/OF/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Tomball, TX who attends St Pius X HS. Has a medium frame, long lean build, and plant of room to continue to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.18 second sixty yard dash. From the mound, has a slight crossfire and a high tempo to his delivery. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with tilt and downhill plane. Fastball has heaviness, curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and good shape. Has an idea how to pitch and had good presence on the mound. From the outfield, showed loose, athletic actions with good arm strength and carry on throws. At the plate, left-handed hitter that starts with an open stance. Easy swing with a middle of the field approach, gets good extension and developing strength that should add to more pop down the road. Excellent student. Named to 2016 Sunshine South Top Prospect List.
