2014 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Chase Slota is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-5 210 lb. frame from Lake Villa, IL who attends Lakes HS. Tall broad shouldered athletic build, good present strength. Fast paced delivery with a big leg raise start, stays on line well, inverted "W" mechanics, extended 3/4's release point. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87, mostly straight. Showed hard tight spin and good bite on his cruveball, sweeping 10/4 shape most of the time. Flashed a nice change up with deception that could be used more. Pounded the zone with all three pitches and used his curveball especially well to the correct spots and at the right times. Polished pitcher who has some projection.
