Stephen Bontempo is a 2018 1B/RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Bishopville, MD who attends Stephen Decatur. Medium, young build with room to get stronger. Arm strength is still developing from first base but shows good carry and makes accurate throws. Hands work well. Has an aggressive approach from the right side of the plate and starts slightly open and upright. Hits line drives to his pull side and ball comes off his bat well. Has an aggressive approach and flashes bat speed. Also took the mound, topped at 71 mph from a three-quarter arm slot. Flashes an 11-5 curveball with good depth and shape. Pitches to contact and shows good command. Good student.
