Luke Roskam is a 2016 C/1B/RHP with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Chaska, MN who attends Chaska HS. Big strong physical build, especially in the lower half. High set behind the plate, will need to work on his lower half flexibility, very good arm strength with accurate on line throws, 1.95 best pop time. Also plays first base very well, has athletic actions and good footwork. Left handed hitter, tall open stance, big stride into contact, sometimes stride is too long causing balance problems, swings hard and has lift and power, showed his power to the middle of the field in games, has hitting tools to continue to develop. Also pitched, short compact arm action, 3/4's release, short stride out front and pitches tall and downhill. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, mostly straight, likes to throw his fastball inside. Nice sweeping curveball with good 10/4 depth. Pounded the strike zone and got quick outs. Solid all around player who should continue to develop.
