Kevin Roll is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Linden, NJ who attends Linden High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.10 40-yard dash. Primary outfielder, sound footwork with short steps moving towards the ball, fields the ball out front, creates momentum through release, short arm action with some effort at release but gets on top of the ball and shows carry out of hand to intended base. Also pitched, simple delivery working exclusively out of the stretch, high leg lift with hip turn at top. Worked to an extended three-quarters release, quick arm through the back and topped out at 84 mph, lands on line with strike foot. Tight rotation to 11-5 shape breaking ball at 74 mph, maintains arm speed well on changeup at 78 mph, threw strikes with all three. Righthanded hitter, begins with a closed stance and uses a toe tap trigger for timing, shifts weight well through lower half moving into contact. Pulls hands back at start of swing but comes out of it and shows a clean launch with quickness to hands. Consistently finds the barrel and shows nice strength coming off, hands work well in swing and can hit to all fields with authority. Named to Northeast Indoor-NJ Top Prospect List. Good student.
