Victor Cruz is a 2017 3B/IF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Westfield, NJ who attends Westfield. Large frame with athletic, strong build throughout; body projects well still. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.21 seconds. Sets up to hit from wide-based, slightly-crouched stance; high hand set and high back elbow as well. Bars slightly to start, simple shift into swing with efficient movements. Rotational in torso, has strength and generates good bat speed. Has feel for the barrel, did a good job hitting to all fields with good jump off the barrel and projectable power. Worked out defensively in the infield, profiles very well at 3rd base. Fields out front cleanly with soft hands, short steps with range to both sides, has some fluidity through actions, quick transfer and shows good arm strength across the infield, with throws clocked up to 83 MPH. Good student.
