Davis Green is a 2017 1B/RHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Coppell, TX who attends Coppell. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength throughout well proportioned frame. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, moves well off the bag and shows footwork and range, short arm action on throws, longer release, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy across the diamond with strength. Also pitched, begins with side step into delivery, gets tall on backside well and uses length to generate downhill on fastball with extension out front. Repeats mechanics well, fastball topped out at 78 mph and worked down in the zone, pretty true with life but would show occasional running life. Curveball featured 12-6 shape with short depth, fills up the zone with both pitches. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance and a high back elbow in the box. Lowers hands at beginning of swing, full path through the zone with bat speed coming to the ball. Moving parts but does a nice job of staying on time, shows a feel for the barrel and strength coming off when squared with potential for more. Excellent student.
