Alex Lataille is a 2016 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-6 195 lb. frame from Woonsocket, RI who attends Mount St Charles Academy. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders, long limbs, and a high waist. Projects well. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, shows an easy release from a high three-quarter slot with a short arm action in the back. Easy release and generates downhill plane at release, balanced leg lift equal to belt. Shorter stride down the mound and projects for more with additional lower half. Quick arm and lives low in the zone with fastball, topped at 80 mph and showed short running life to it. Around the plate with three pitches, curveball shows 1-7 shape with tight rotation, flashed straight changeup at 65 mph. Moves well around the first base bag, loose and easy arm action, fields cleanly out front, good reaction off the bat. Left-handed hitter, starts with an open and upright stance, high hand set. High leg lift trigger and on time, easy swing with extension out front. Hands stay close to body, looks to pull the ball, long finish. Good student.
